Hi there, I'm not sure if anyone else is having this issue but the image for Floor 9 has a little error for me. In Area 1, the 2nd door from the left is half erased. It looks like a tiling problem. I can still run the encounter w no issues but I just wanted to give a heads up.

Random question from a newbie DM re: the ice puzzle - you mention the cube is 25 feet tall -- did you envision it was still 10x10 at the base (large size) and it's just really tall, or is the whole thing much wider as well? Trying to figure out 3d printing for this unique take on it, thanks!

I imagined it as 25X25 feet- so I guess that would technically count as a "gargantuan" creature. You could do 10X25 if you'd like, it would just be more of a gelatinous rectangular prism (lol). The height definitely matters a little more than the width as it is primarily used as the platform used to get to the various ledges around the room.

Is there any plans for more towers with different challenges/puzzles?

Hey. I’m looking for a mage tower encounter/heist, where I can challenge my players equally, addressing their individual strengths. Nature/animals for the Druid etc…
Are the puzzles in this session aimed at everyone, or could they be adapted to target specific strengths this and weaknesses. Thanks!

So all the challenges scale regardless of your characters’ levels. I have it set up so that it suggest different ways to alter the difficulty depending on the needs of your player characters. Many of the puzzles require actual character actions and performance to complete- as opposed to only puzzles that the actual players just solve on their own without the aid of stats. It’s not really set up to be like “this room is all about intelligence” or “this room is all about strength”. Each room requires teamwork to complete and the challenges get more difficult as you progress up toward the top floor. I hope this helps! - Jeremy

What do you do about detect magic or dispel magic to the barrier at the beginning?

Detect magic on the outside of the tower reveals that illusion magic has been used. The illusion magic is the cause of the fear and the visual illusion of the door. Dispel magic will allow them to remove the fear effect or automatically reveal the passage from the bottom floor to the second floor. If they wanna burn a 3rd level spell to traverse past the easiest puzzle, that’s on them :D

Too late for me now, but I suggest adding a printer-friendly version without the colored background. It uses a lot of toner.

It is designed to be the same amount of challenge regardless of your group's level: 1-20. The standard is level 3, but each encounter is designed with suggested changes you make based on the level of you group. So you can make it easier for level 1 and 2, or more challenging for higher levels. Each encounter tells you how to adjust to make the challenge appropriate.

Any insight as to how long this adventure would run? 4 hours? 12 hours? Thanks for the help.

It normally takes about two sessions. So closer to like 7 or 8 hours.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
