Would you like to impress your players with the glory of the Prince of Beasts, Baphomet? One entrance to the Labyrinth in the Underdark is the Spiral of the Horned King. This map pack features invocations to Baphomet written in blood. If your players don't understand Abyssal or can't cast comprehend languages, use the "Runes" version of the map. If they can translate, drag the "Abyssal" layer above the "Runes" layer to reveal messages written in Abyssal (English).

Are the grid sizes and dimensions for the maps listed anywhere? I'm finding myself having to count square-by-square to try to line up the JPG images in Roll20, and given that even the gridded versions appear to contain partial squares at the edges, it's exceedingly difficult to figure out.

Thank you for reaching out! I will include the horizontal x vertical grid numbers in the file name for future releases.

There are often partial squares at the edges because most maps have standard dimensions, but the scale of the scene on the maps are not always the same.

I'm not sure if Roll20 is similar, but I overlay the gridded version on the non-grid version in Fantasy Grounds. Then I can visually line up the grid tool, set the grid size, and delete the gridded version.

I appreciate your feedback, thanks again!

Roll20's tool for adjusting the pixel size of the system grid based on a gridded image seems somehow to never correctly give the right dimensions; without both the grid square pixel size and the grid's X & Y dimensions, I'm mostly guessing, estimating, and hoping the players don't notice that the map is completely misaligned at the edges.

That is frustrating! I have very little experience with Roll20, so I did not know how difficult it was.

I will try to figure out how to determine the square pixel size and the X&Y dimensions of the grid for future releases. DMsGuild recently began hosting Roll20 formatting. I'll look into that process as well.

Here are the pixel sizes and offsets. I was able to get them by making a copy of the module, extracting with 7-ZIP, and opening the "db.xml". If this works for you, I will try to include this information in a PDF within the JPG folders for future releases.

Spiral of the Horned King 4K (Runes and Abyss):
Grid Size: 58.5 , 58.5
Grid Offset: -6, -471.7

Labyrinth Maze_4K:
Grid Size: 58.5 , 58.5
Grid Offset: -8 , -0.4000034

Labyrinth Filthriddens_4K
Grid Size: 135 , 135
Grid Offset: 1080 , 272

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
